Happy Holidays!

We have had a busy start to our holiday season around the Marter household! We also celebrated our first anniversary! We had a wonderful time hosting our first Thanksgiving in our house. We travelled up to Cleveland after Thanksgiving to spend time with my family. We also got to cut down our Christmas tree and Travis insisted on putting it in our car instead of on top of so that the needles didn't fall off from Cleveland to Columbus...never a dull moment! We had a wonderful first anniversary eating at our favorite restaurant, eating year old wedding cake, and exchanging (memorable) gifts. We're really looking forward to many more holiday celebrations in the coming weeks!

For future laughs I had to put a picture of Travis' anniversary gift to me...Yes, this is a blanket with our faces which covers a queen size bed. No, you will no longer be able to find this at our house.

Thanks Pinterest!

Here are a few of my latest pinterest creations...many more are in the works!

What the heck have the Marter's been up to?!

So we have been M.I.A. from our blog the past few months...I've started back at school and we've been running around a lot lately! Travis has informed me that I needed to update our blog ...so here I am posting a few pics of our whereabouts that last couple months...oh and happy 33rd Birthday Travis!! Travis is out celebrating with Rudy on an afternoon hunting trip...I'm sure there will be pictures soon following!

We celebrated Marcus and Bridget's wedding! Another successful troop Evanston reunion...even the chunky black necklace made an appearance! Also, gotta love the UD cookies!

We traveled to Cleveland for an Indians game and had a mini reunion with Meezie, Erin, and CJ!

We tried to enter Rudy on Dog shaming...if you have not gone to the website check it out it's hilarious! Rudy rummaged through the recycling and dragged all its contents throughout the front yard and driveway!

We grew vegetables in our garden! Unfortunately, not as many as we had hoped due to dry weather and bug issues, but we learned a lot and look forward to doing it again next year!

We tailgated for the Buckeye game!

We still obsess over our dog...even when she is bad! Don't mind that creepy picture of Rudy and I!

We celebrated Travis birthday at the Zac Brown Band Concert!

We celebrated CJ and Jeff's wedding in Cleveland and had a wonderful gossip Hawk reunion! Miss these girls so much!

Color Run

My girlfriends and I ran the color run this past weekend. If you have not heard of this fun race its a 5k where different colors are thrown at you throughout the race! We had a ball and were covered from head to toe by the end of it. My favorite part of the race was the end where everyone gathers and throws color in the air!

Safety First!

We went out boating this weekend and took Rudy with us. This was not Rudy's first time on the boat, but knowing her hyperactivity I insisted on getting her a life vest! She's a great swimmer and loves the water...but that still didn't stop me from putting the life vest on her. Yes, I am that crazy Mom!

First Painting Project

I've had some things on my summer bucket list that have yet to get done, but yesterday I decided to drop all that I was doing (which means nothing) and go to home depot to pick out a color and paint the dining room. Voila...the dining room is now (almost) complete! I'm happy with the color. It's a taupey grey. It's darker then I thought it would be, but I really like it!

OBX

We had another fantastic time on our annual family vacation to the Outer Banks in North Carolina. The OBX is my absolute favorite vacation spot and I always anxiously await our annual trip! Our group seems to be growing more and more each year which only means more laughs, food, drinks, and dysfunctional memories! Some highlights of the trip include my dehydrated brother, the kids night out at our favorite OBX bar "Sundogs", and the invention of the high tide game. Here are some of my favorite pictures from the week...can't wait until next year!

Our family invented our new favorite ocean game "High Tide" where we all line up our chairs as the tide begins to come in and we see who can last the longest without getting knocked over. Needless to say it was a huge hit and we even had spectators come up to us asking what time we'd be playing the next day.
